The Eagles scored two runs in the top of the seventh, and Radford notched one run in the bottom of the seventh to reach the final score of 6-1.
"It's always hard to get a double-header sweep, especially on the road," Winthrop head coach Joe Hudak said. "Alex pitched very well in game one as he gave up only three hits. Every single win is important now as we are still trying to get an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament."

Winthrop 11, Radford 5
The Eagles used a nine-run ninth inning to score a come-from-behind 11-5 victory to complete the three-game sweep over the Highlanders.
Winthrop fell behind in the bottom of the first 1-0 and Radford added one additional run in the bottom of the third to go up 2-0. The Highlanders added another run to go up 3-0 in the bottom of the fourth.
The Eagles got within one run in the top of the sixth as they scored two runs on one hit. Carey drew a one-out walk, and one batter later, junior outfielder Louis Ullrich hit a two-run homerun to right.
Radford regained a three-run edge as they added two runs in the bottom of the eighth to go up 5-2.
Winthrop's big inning of nine runs came off five hits and two Radford errors. The first two runs came off the bat of junior outfielder Billy Froelich as he doubled to right center to score Ullrich and senior outfielder Mike Honce. The two runs that got Winthrop within one prompted a pitching change by the Highlanders.
Froehlich then scored on a double by Carrara two batters later. Carrara and freshman outfielder Tommy Lee, who pinch-ran for freshman catcher John Murrian, scored on single by Henderson. Henderson then scored on a double by Nolan.
Nolan scored on a sacrifice fly by Carey who reached on an error by the left fielder. Two batters later Ullrich flied out to center field and Carey scored to make it 10-5. The final run came when Honce scored on a wild pitch.
Senior pitcher Jonathan Settle pitched a scoreless bottom of the ninth to preserve the Eagles 11-5 victory.
The Eagles will host the Citadel Bulldogs at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11. Winthrop will stay out of conference this weekend for a three-game series against Northeastern. Friday's game will be played at 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday's games being played at 2 p.m.
Winthrop will host the 2007 Big South Conference Baseball Championship May 23-26 at the Winthrop Ballpark. Tickets are now available through the athletic department ticket office.
