Poll shows majority wants lower legal drinking age

He struggled to muster support from legislation because states who lower drinking ages risk losing funds for allotted highways.
According to the Federal Aid Highway Act, any state that lowers its legal drinking age will lose 10 percent of annual highway funding.
"This is the hard lesson of prohibition that each generation must relearn," Choose Responsibility director McCardell wrote in an opinion piece about legal drinking ages.
"Colleges should be given the chance to educate students, who in all other respects are adults, in the appropriate use of alcohol, within campus boundaries and out in the open."
McCardell is currently managing his grassroots campaign across the US. Most of the campaign is operated online through its website, chooseresponsibility.org, and through a Facebook support group with more than 1,200 members.

If you can join the militery, vote, mary, divorse, and smoke you should be able to drink.

YES THE LEGAL DRINKING AGE SHOULD BE LOWERED. Anyone who can go to war, buy a house, etc., should be allowed to have a beer if they choose. A parent should be allowed to have a beer with their 19 yr old son who is leaving for war if they choose. (Continued…)

I guess the way things work is if most people want the age lowered, they should vote for those representatives that will get it lowered. What about making pot and cocaine legal at the same time. (Continued…)
