Get ready to Chevy
The three-day main Ready to Chevy event, featuring games, food, prizes and Chevy car displays, will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday and Friday on Byrnes Lawn and Saturday at Winthrop Lake. Everyone is invited to attend and learn about fuel efficiency.
Be recognized
Tickets for "Say it Loud," the annual mass communication recognition dinner, must be purchased by Friday in Johnson 219. Cost is $13 and guests are limited to 150.
The dinner, held at 6:30 p.m. April 9 in McBryde Hall, allows mass communication faculty to recognize outstanding work from students, and students to network with professionals in the area who attend.
Learn about learning
Friends of Dacus Library will host its spring program at 4 p.m. April 10 in Plowden Auditorium.
Kay McSpadden, Winthrop alumna, teacher and author, will discuss her recent book, "Notes from a Classroom," as well as current issues in education and its impact on society.
Rediscover the 80s
Rock and Roll historian Barry Drake will host a lecture and concert about 80s music history, "Rock Music in the Video Age," at 8 p.m. Friday in Plowden Auditorium.
The event is free with a DSU spring pass, $5 with Winthrop ID and $7 without.
