CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Winthrop senior guard Tiffany Rodd was named the Big South Conference Women's Basketball Choice Hotels Player of the Week, while Linda Aughburns of UNC Asheville was named New Balance Freshman of the Week.

Rodd, from Clinton, Tenn., shot 48 percent from the field and 50 percent from downtown. She averaged 16 points per game, leading the Lady Eagles to two Big-South wins last week.

Rodd started the week with 54 percent from the floor and 20 points (four out of eight from long range and two from the line) in Winthrop's win over Charleston Southern Feb. 2.

She put in 12 points in the win against Presbyterian Feb. 7.

She connected on 40 percent of her field-goal attempts and 50 percent of attempts from beyond the arc. She also chipped in three boards, two assists and two take-aways.

This honor marks her first player-of-the-week nod this season and the third in her career.
